Ho To Reset Windows Server 2008 Password

Reset windows server 2008 password through installation media.


Follow Below Steps To reset Password


Insert the installation disk into your server/computer, then boot from the installation disk.

After your computer boot from the installation disk, click on Repair your computer option from the lower left hand corner.

 
In the system recovery option, select the operating system to repair and click on Next button.






















Now below window will appear, select command prompt option like below





















At the command prompt type the below given command

MOVE C:\Windows\System32\Utilman.exe C:\Windows\System32\Utilman.exe.bak








Next you need to copy cmd.exe  and rename it utilman.exe, so type below command

COPY C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe C:\Windows\System32\Utilman.exe






Now close the command prompt dialog and reboot the windows server system and allow windows to load as normal when you are come at the logon screen, click on the "Ease of Access" icon like below-






















After click, command prompt will be open the type below command
"net user administrator *"     
                        















When you click "Enter" key, it will prompt you to enter the New Password you want, after that, please confirm it. Once you're logged in again, you should delete the newly created Utilman.exe and then rename Utilman.exe.bak back to plain old Utilman.exe.

Follow Below Steps To Roll Back

1- Reboot your server/computer through installation disk.

2- Get to command prompt and run below command-

copy utilman.exe cmd.exe

3- Again type below command and enter

move utilman.exe.bak utilman.exe
